Pears

Winter pears

Pear is one of the most important fruit and vegetable products typical of the Emilia Romagna region.
The fruits, with an elongated calebassiform shape, have a light green-yellowish skin, covered around the calycin and peduncle cavity by russeting and sometimes also by a pink overcolouration on the part of the fruit facing the sun. The pulp is very fine, with a sweet flavor and a sugar content of over 13° brix.
